Sanctuary Mountain Maungatautari began with a dream to protect the plant and animal species living on Maungatautari, located in the heart of the mighty Waikato. In the early 2000's the community came together to restore and protect this precious environment and, in doing so, created the largest fenced eco-sanctuary in the world - gotta love a solid bit of kiwi ingenuity!
