As New Zealand's 2nd oldest Charity (est. 1898), Home and Family have evolved from ‘The Society for the Protection of Women’ into a child-focused organisation preventing the maltreatment of children by providing early intervention and wrap-around support to pēpi, tamariki, rangatahi and their parents/caregivers and whānau. We believe all children should have the right to live in homes with people that cherish them, keep them safe and nurture their potential. We build the life skills, confidence, and self-belief to live lives free from anxiety, stress, depression, and behavioural and mental health issues. The welfare of children is central to everything we do. Home & Family is a springboard for change enabling all children the opportunity to 'Reach for the Stars' and reach their full potential. We provide direct, measurable change to the lives of our most vulnerable members of society. Our work reduces the systemic cycle of maltreatment, violence and abuse of children from birth to 18 years in Canterbury via our three core services: - Child therapy - Parenting (Parenting education, residential parenting program and community parenting assessments) - Whānau Safety
