Why is it important to raise the scientific literacy of our kids? They are our future. Science education has never been more important with issues such as the pandemic and climate change bringing science conversations into our homes and communities.
Not only does science open up a vast array of career opportunities but it teaches our kids skills, such as critical thinking that will enable them to participate in every day decisions that affect their whanau and communities in an active and informed way.
By working with the children of today we are helping to build a scientifically literate community of tomorrow. Providing hands on learning that uses children's natural curiosity helps to demystify science and encourage more children to participate in science-based courses through their schooling.
House of Science started in the Western Bay of Plenty in 2014 and has grown to 18 branches around New Zealand, with over 550 member schools.
