Our Vision

To provide Search and Rescue services to the lost, missing and injured.

How We Create Change

We have 3500 professional search and rescue volunteers spread across the country ready to support the communities of New Zealand 24/7.

LandSAR helps to provide a safety net for the rare occasions when trips into the back country don’t go as planned. We work with the Mountain Safety Council (MSC) to educate everyone about safe practice in outdoor adventure.

Our Story

We are a national volunteer organisation which provides land search and rescue services to lost, missing and injured all over New Zealand. Our volunteers operate in suburban, urban, wilderness and rural areas including regional and forest parks, shorelines and caves.

The health and safety of our children and beneficiaries is always our priority; accordingly our in country managers are applying the critical incident management plan we have developed that covers hygiene as well as isolation in some cases....
