Our mission is to empower families and whānau of people with disabilities and health impairments through support and information. Raising a child with a disability is an experience that is rarely planned, and we know it can be a challenging journey.
We inform, educate, inspire and support families as they navigate the way through their family’s experience with disability. We connect new families with specially trained volunteer support parents who have a family member with the same or similar disability to their child.
Living with a brother or sister who has a disability can be challenging. We run programmes to support siblings to thrive in their own, unique family environment.
Our dedicated research team provides free information to families, and those involved in a family's care, on nearly 4,000 conditions from the very rare to the more common.
Parent to Parent offers a wide range of unique services, programmes and events aimed at connecting and empowering families caring for children with disabilities and is the only organisation in New Zealand providing these services, and they are free and confidential.
